I Can't Believe It's Not Butter for 25¢ each!

My local grocery store (which I never even use coupons at) had 16 oz tubs of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" on sale for 2/$3 and I had coupons from last months Sunday inserts for $1.25 off one - which made these 25¢! I also found out you can freeze these - so in the freezer they went and I have a year's supply for just $2.00! Can't beat that!

Haven't power shopped in a month!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post! I haven't shopped in the last several weeks. I didn't really need anything, and I wasn't all that impressed with the coupons and/or ads the past few weeks.

This Sunday there will be coupons for FREE cans of Mighty Dog food so I'm excited about that. I mix that with my dog's dry food and they eat it up like crazy. Last month they offered the same coupon and I got about a month's worth for free! I'm hoping to do that again this Sunday. Nothing beats free! Oh, and Palmolive coupons this Sunday for $1 off 2 are a good deal. Walmart has them at 99¢ so they would be 48¢ after coupon. I have over 100 bottles of them already though.... do I need more?

A couple weekends ago there were coupons for $2.50 off Finish dishwashing tabs and I have a few of those coupons but so far there haven't been any great sales on them to make them free or almost free so I haven't used them up yet.

I hope there are some good ads coming up this weekend. I'm going through power-shopping withdrawals!

How to make CHINESE DONUTS with 2 ingredients!

I'm spilling the secret to how chinese restuarants make chinese donuts, and how you can make them with just 2 ingredients!

You'll need:

Deep Fryer

1 Tube of Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits
Sugar (& Cinnomon if desired)

  • Open the tube of buttermilk biscuits.
  • Cut one biscuit into quarters and roll into a ball.
  • Place in deep fryer for about 3-4 minutes, until completely cooked inside
  • Take out of fryer and drain onto paper towels.
  • Dust with sugar and enjoy!
  • I made these and they taste EXACTLY like the ones you get in the restaurants. One tube can yield 40 of these chinese donuts! Around here the restaurants charge about 50¢ each. One tube costs about $2.29. Now that's a savings! Next time you order chinese takeout, make the donuts yourself and save some cash!

Tip: Since it's unlikely you will want to make all 40 at once, cut up all the donuts into quarters (40 per tube), roll them into balls and freeze them. Then the next time you want a donut you can just toss a frozen one into the fryer.
